Hi Audrey,
It's true. If a guy makes no effort in the beginning he is not going to turn into Sir Galahad later. Think of it positively, you saved yourself future heartburn. Imagine ten years from now vacuuming under his feet and fetching his beers and him wondering why the only thing you are interested in going to bed with is an Advil.

I honestly think food is a great litmus test when it comes to working out if a guy is going to consider your appetites. You don't have to be telepathic, just see the signs. I think being able to work out who is relationship material from those that are good for a fling can save you a lot of angst.

There is a buffet of guys out there so just clock it up to experience and move on. B ♥

Wish I had read and listened to this advice back in February. My now long distance relationship "ex" was aware of Valentine's Day because he was going to be in Vegas playing in a rugby tournament. He commented several times about being in Vegas on Valentines Day, and I took that to mean he might have been planning something special for me, but VD came and went, and he did absolutely NOTHING. I, on the other hand, pulled out all the stops and made sexy homemade conversation heart sugar cookies that I put in a basket along with a card, imported chocolates, and $20 in Lucky Heart lottery tickets. I had this package delivered to his house, waiting on his doorstep when he came home the day after Valentine's Day. Though he apologized profusely and seemed genuinely sincere, he did the SAME THING when my birthday rolled around in September. He did NOTHING except for to call me, woohoo. I broke up with him and he still doesn't get why. Though he was extraordinarily good in bed, his selfish, narcissistic traits had become quite evident and carried over into everything else outside of the bedroom.

You are so funny! I'm afraid you are going to have to sandblast yourself off that couch and get a dog-sitter. And start climbing Man Everest. It's a long journey but better than watching life secondhand. And what is more profound than unraveling the mystery of ourselves and the even more impenetrable mystery of love. Sad you lost someone. But guess what? You are alive. You have a pulse and a pair of stilettos. Be brave, make up your mind what you really want - do a shopping list - and start moving toward it.
